Each section is rated based on the type of vehicle it represents being part of. This is a beautiful Packard 2-Door Hardtop in excellent condition inside and out. We recently purchased this car out of a high-end collection of a large estate in Las Vegas. The car has been in storage in the garage of a 10 million dollar house for the last several years.

When we purchased the car with several others we went through the car from front to back mechanically so it runs and drives excellent. The car was part of the gentleman's collection for several years.

It appears to have received a restoration several years ago but has held up very nicely. It is a little bit of an older restoration but it is still in beautiful condition as it hasn't really been used that much. The car shows to be a southwest car all its life as it is completely and totally rust-free with a super straight body and excellent fit and finish throughout.

It is finished in a gorgeous Cobalt Blue and White with excellent chrome and trim throughout. The interior has been redone in all OEM materials in the correct black cloth and white leather. It is a very rare car as it is equipped with factory air conditioning which is almost unheard of on a Packard. In fact we have never seen one with factory air conditioning before. It comes with a set of Kelsey Hayes chrome wire wheels that look just amazing on the car wrapped in wide white wall radial tires.

This is a real beauty and extremely rare car as its the last year for the and one of only 3, ever built. The exterior of this Packard is in excellent condition and shows wonderfully. As we said before it is a little older restoration probably done in the last 10 years but you can tell it has been a very clean and straight car.

It has a beautiful paint job in striking Cobalt Blue and White that looks fantastic. This car did have a color change for full disclosure and was originally painted in Maltese Gray but the blue is real pretty.

All of the chrome is in amazing condition. We think it has all been redone during the restoration because it is almost too nice to be original.

All the emblems are gold like they are supposed to be and look fantastic. All the lenses are crystal clear and in excellent condition. All the trim looks amazing and overall the car is a very presentable appearance. The fit and finish on the car is excellent. All the glass appears to be in great condition.Login Register Sitemap Contact us Home.

This car was sold new in Bakersfield, California and that is where I found it. It is as dry as an old bone and as rust free of a car as you will ever find. The car still wears the selling dealership nameplate which I guess was a Packard dealership at that time in Bakersfield. The car runs extremely well and shifts propertly. The only mechanical issue was the power brake booster and I recently removed it and received a replacement rebuilt unit from Max Merrit Packard parts I just got it The paint is thin in some places with the original primer and or steel beginning to show.

The interior is also original and should be refreshed. The pot metal is very nice and virtually pit free a testament to having lived its life in a desert environment. The power windows work but the glass on the drivers side window has a crack and needs to be replaced.

It is loaded with options including power steering, power brakes, power windows and power seat. The radio is present but someone prior to me removed the power antenna it is in the trunk. I have also purchased NOS tail light lenses and reverse lenses they come with the purchase of the car.

This is a really cool Packard and the end of the line as Packard ceased true Packard operations in late and the Grand Avenue Plant in Detroit where this car was built was sold. If you have been looking for a really neat car needing a light restoration that is truly rust free This is a special car in that it is a senior series car with the largest cubic inch displacement engine ever produced by Packard. As the car is more than 60 years old, it does not come with a warranty and is sold as is.

We really want this car to go to a Packard enthusiast who can appreciate the car. Please call with any questions any time and I will answer them to the best of my ability. I do accept offers and reserve the right to end this auction early. Thanks very much for considering this car.

Pink Packard Images are general in nature and may not reflect the specific vehicle selected. Packard introduced the John Reinhart-designed 24th Series Patrician sedan in August as the top-of-the-line Custom Eight replacement. The Patrician still used a nine-main-bearing, straight-eight flathead engine, now displacing cid instead ofand producing hp.

The Packard Patrician was virtually the same as the previous year, with only small visual modifications transpiring.

This was also the case foras minor changes to the grille and side trim were the biggest exterior changeups. More importantly, the Patrician series was expanded in with expensive long-wheelbase custom sedans and limousines. Sales were minimal: 25 Derham sedans, Henney executive sedans, and 50 corporate limousines. Meanwhile 7, Patricians found buyers.

The model year saw the end of the basic 24th Series shape, and the Packard marque was being divided into Packard and Clipper lines.

The Henney limousine and executive sedan were continued and the Patrician sedan was now called the Patrician Custom. A total of 2, Custom sedans were sold, 65 Henney executive sedans, and 35 limousines. This was the last year for the straight eight. Packard tried to right the ship in with an elegant redesign of the Patrician, new and cid V-8 engines, and self-leveling torsion-bar suspension on the top models.

The bodies were handsome, with full-wide grilles, sweep-around windshields, cathedral taillights, and side trim which permitted tri-color paint schemes. The new mechanicalshowever, were rushed into production and oil pump problems and torsion-bar issues would cost the company dearly. There would be no more big Packards afterjust badge-engineered Studebakers, and even those stopped appearing following the model year.

The Packard Patrician today carries the distinction of being one of the last top-level Packards built. The cars are fairly rare, and handsome as well. The cars are generally the least expensive due to their mechanical troubles, with the cars being good choices due to their extra power. Trim, though, can be difficult to locate, and club support for later Packards is not on par with earlier cars, so new owners should be aware that they may not find a lot of support.

Regardless, the cars are still eye-catching, and fun to drive. For all Hagerty Insurance clients: The values shown do not imply coverage in this amount. Changes to the Four Hundred followed those changes to the entire senior Packard line as it attempted to further distance itself from the Clipper, which was now its own marque in Senior Packards received a new grille texture and multi-tone paint schemes. A new electronic push-button control for the Ultramatic automatic transmission was offered as an option on the Four Hundred, the push-buttons located on a pod mounted via a stalk off the steering column.

Although sophisticated, it proved troublesome. A simpler column-mounted selector was standard. Production totals for came to 7, units for the Packard Four Hundred, and 3, units for The Packard offered here has been in the same ownership since and has just under 42, miles.

It runs very well, the transmission and push button selector work well. The pictures should clearly show the cosmetics of the car, both inside and out. This would be a great car for a tinkerer. Message :.The Packard Executive was something of an anomaly for this automaker.

Packard President James Nance had no great love for medium-priced cars parading around wearing the name of the great luxury marquee.

But that's exactly the kind of car his company released in for what turned out to be the last completely new model in the firm's history. Anyone who followed the automobile business could tell by the March announcement of the Packard Executive that the old company, which had merged with Studebaker two years before, was in trouble.

For four years Packard's top management had been insisting that the Packard name be used only on luxury cars -- now here they were again, applying it to cars that sold for the price of a Buick.

Whether management's rationale was right or not, the Executive arrived too late to change anything, and only were built. Given the state of Studebaker-Packard fortunes, it really didn't matter how many were sold. The Executive went down in history only as the last "true" Packard ever introduced, if we don't count the Studebaker-based ersatz-Packards of Automotive insiders in recognized the Executive as a desperation tactic because it contradicted the marketing plan adopted by James J.

Nance when he became Packard president in Nance's approach had been logical and correct. Packard, he knew, had been a watchword for luxury and class for nearly half a century, at least since the mighty Six, the "boss of the road," was introduced for Into save itself, Packard moved seriously down-market with the One Twenty although that car was brilliantly engineered, and by no means cheap.

Ingreedy for the mass market the One Twenty had uncovered, Packard added a new, much less mighty Six, which was cheap, though equally well built.

You could buy a Six for the price of a Pontiac.
